Paintings by WIESLAW WILK

Wiesław Wilk was born in 1954 in Pomerania (Poland). Wiesław all his life he lived on the water, more precisely next to the water. Sometimes it was a lake, sometimes a sea, less often a river.

From an early age, he was fond of sailing. At the age of 11, he won his first regatta. He spent his military service in a blue beret of Polish "marines".

Wilk worked for many years at a shipyard and then at a yacht factory in Gdansk. And in parallel he drew a lot. Painting is his second passion. He is a self-taught artist who loves his paintings. The theme of his work is mostly sailing ships on the high seas. I simply did not see others.

Wilk's works were presented at exhibitions in Koszalin (Poland), Munich (Germany), Riga (Latvia). He was a frequent participant in the nautical plein airs in Trzebei. He currently lives in Szczecinek in Pomerania and in his spare time he rides his Firefly.

"In my youth (in fact, in the first years of the institute), I also walked along our river on a six-rowed sloop, and a couple of times we even raised the sail, but those days are long gone and I have not really tasted sea romance. It did not grow together, but the romanticism of the sea, together with the stories of Captain Peter Blood and Jim Hawkins, has firmly penetrated my heart."

Mysterious islands, raging waves, a blood moon - treasures on an unnamed island.
