AGATHA CHRISTIE - QUOTES

This lady is one of the most published writers in the history of mankind.

Agatha Christie is the mother of the famous detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

Agatha Christie's books have been translated into 103 languages and published in over 2 billion copies.

She is the author of many great sayings, the most famous of which is:

"Freedom is worth fighting for."

Never think that you are better at understanding what other people need.

Life is not long enough to be bored ...

The greatest happiness that can happen in life is a happy childhood.

Only in those moments when you see people as funny do you really understand how much you love them!

An intelligent person keeps his thoughts to himself.

Happy people do not succeed: they are so in tune with themselves that they are simply not interested in anything else.

The really important moments of your life are always too late to notice.

Any woman is capable of fooling a man if she wants it and if he is in love with her.

Never do yourself what others can do for you.

When it comes to big money, it is advisable not to trust anyone.

Pretending that you know something is harder than finding out.

Conversation is invented to prevent people from thinking.

The best detective is the case.

A little bit of backbiting gives life a spicy edge.

In ninety-nine cases, women behave like fools, but one hundredth are more cunning than men.

Women rarely make mistakes in their judgments about each other.

Nothing is more burdensome than devotion.

It's tiresome when a person is right all the time.

Irrefutable logic is characteristic of a maniac.

A high reputation is the first necessity for a crook!

Every killer is probably someone you know well.

The fact that the alarm clock did not ring has changed many human destinies.

Any mutual affection between a man and a woman begins with the amazing illusion that you think the same about everything in the world.

Evil, done by a person, often experiences himself.

If you try to revive the past, then in the end it appears in a distorted form.

If your dreams are not destined to come true, it is much better to admit it in time and move on, instead of focusing on broken hopes .

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow; but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.

Very few of us are what we seem.

The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances.

The best time for planning a book is while you're doing the dishes.

An archaeologist is the best husband a woman can have. The older she gets, the more interested he is in her.

Instinct is a marvelous thing. It can neither be explained nor ignored.

You gave too much rein to your imagination. Imagination is a good servant, and a bad master. The simplest explanation is always the most likely.

It is really a hard life. Men will not be nice to you if you are not good-looking, and women will not be nice to you if you are

Everybody said, "Follow your heart". I did, it got broken

One of the saddest things in life, is the things one remembers.

But surely for everything you love you have to pay some price.

The young people think the old people are fools - but the old people know the young people are fools

Time is the best killer.

Good advice is always certain to be ignored, but that's no reason not to give it

I don't think necessity is the mother of invention. Invention . . . arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble

To every problem, there is a most simple solution.

I do not argue with obstinate men. I act in spite of them.

Everything must be taken into account. If the fact will not fit the theory - let the theory go.

Words, madmoiselle, are only the outer clothing of ideas.

I suppose it is because nearly all children go to school nowadays and have things arranged for them that they seem so forlornly unable to produce their own ideas.

Words are such uncertain things, they so often sound well but mean the opposite of what one thinks they do

Dogs are wise. They crawl away into a quiet corner and lick their wounds and do not rejoin the world until they are whole once more.

To rush into explanations is always a sign of weakness.

People should be interested in books, not their authors.

Elephants can remember, but we are human beings and mercifully human beings can forget.
