A TURN OF EVENTS
by Ross D Tyler
What exactly is a crisis?
Are they really all that bad?
For some it’s like the world has ended,
A loss of things they had.
Others may say ‘a change is good’,
‘Opportunities are without bounds.’
These people couldn’t be happier,
With the new life they have found.
But what of those who differ?
Whose realities consist of pain?
Those terrified individuals,
Faced by things never being the same?
‘These things always happen to me!’
‘It’s God, he flippin’ lied!’
‘I do not feel ‘his’ unbridled love,
Just hollowness inside.
‘I think my life is ending.’
‘There’s nowhere I can go.’
‘I couldn’t care less about the gates of Heaven,
Or supposed Hell below’.
But I can see what’s in you?
That fire which burns within.
A strength and fortitude in your heart,
That refuses to give in.
Life is full of suffering,
But it can be overcome,
Things don’t last forever,
Disagree, and come undone.
But, the hard times can be fleeting,
Of this, you can be sure.
You can learn so much through this experience,
Perhaps be stronger than before?
It’s true that crises are challenging,
They irrevocably call for change.
The beliefs and perceptions you hold so dear,
Will have to be re-arranged.
To hold onto these cherished things,
Will only bring you pain,
But a time may come, when you come to accept,
That things will never be the same.
Change is but a journey,
And we make them everyday.
But some are full of potholes,
And others like wading through clay.
So find your place in nature,
Cherish your Soul, its unique.
We’re all just flowing water,
Over pebbles in a creak.
And whichever journey you embark on,
Don’t let it slip your mind,
Your friends can be your Sherpa’s,
On the Mountain track you climb.
Life always throws a curve-ball,
And you may lose, or maybe saved,
Crisis may lead you up to the stars,
Or drag you to your grave.
So, if these words have touched you,
And your Jewel no longer glistens,
Never forget, someone’s always there,
Who will prize you and want to listen.
