A FRAGRANCE ALL ITS OWN
by Nancy Ellen Crossland
Scents of summer roses fade into a fond memory
Lilies lemon yellow
Jasmine intoxicating
Floating on winds of yesterday's folly
Autumn's scent is unique
No other season may compare;
Mingled in moss and morning dew
Golden leaves pressed upon the ground
Create patterns of stepping stones
Paths newly found
Not the whisper of summer's breeze
Fragrance of dampened woods
Russet falling leaves
Invigorating, awakening
Blends of eucalyptus,oak and elm
Embrace us in a potpourri of scents
'Tis autumn's amber welcome!

Lovely image to accompany my poem. I am flattered that you posted it on your blog. Warmest regards!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment and...permission (sorry, I did not know where to ask for it) - I really love your poem: sensitive and I thought is a wonderful similarity with the seasons of human being, right ? Like "Seasons" of Vivaldi. I noticed that many other people liked your poem here. Thank you and keep on writing poems: you have an artistic soul for sure. Best regards !
