THE COLORS OF SPRING
by Dwayne Leon Rankin
On soft flowing breezes, on a wondrous Spring day,
The scent of all flowers are blowing our way.
Those Daisies and Roses, with Violets aglow.
Bright reds and soft yellows, with tulips all grow.
The world's found alive, with all colors aligned.
A rainbow seen sprouting, as flowers of all kind.
Bluebells with tulips, and Marigolds seen,
Buttercups also with their bright golden sheen.
The sky seen so blue, with clouds small and white,
The world's filled with color found wondrous and bright.
Those flowers on ground will reflect in the sky.
After the showers, as rainbows brought nigh.
The Goldfinch there seen and Humming birds aglow,
With colors all bright, their plumage to show.
The Green jays and Blue jays, with Robins take flight.
The Warblers and Sparrows, a beautiful sight
These birds brightly colored, through the air do they fly.
Their love they are showing, with joy do they cry.
The sweetness of life, with love do they sing,
Abounding in nature, these Colors of Spring.
